The Folly

The Folly is clearly a popular hangout for a drink and then for food and then for another drink. It was bustling and had a really nice ‘vibe’, lots of chatter, lots of laughter and no brashness. It was all going right…

Time of Visit – Dinner, 5th November

Cost of Chips – £4.25

The food arrived and it looked great. Served in the stripped-back style that is so popular right now but unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down.

How were the chips?

The Folly Chips

These chips were called ‘cowboy fries w/ honey, chilli & garlic ‘. They were served in a mug, a nice touch and the sauce was lovely and sticky, you did need a fork to eat these without causing a lot of mess. The sauce itself just tasted like barbeque flavouring and the chips tasted old, as if they had been micro-waved actually. Even if the sauce was pre-made it was nice but I wouldn’t order them again.

Chips: 3/10

And how were the toilets?

The Folly Toilets

The toilets were nice. They did feel more like upscale airport toilets but there were flowers and candles. Nice. There was also lovely soap and moisturiser. This restaurant caters for a lot of people and so the toilets were surprisingly busy, they can’t help this but busy toilets are not the nicest of things.

Toilets: 7/10

Overall: 5/10

With it looking so great from the outside I expected big things but the food couldn’t live up my expectations
